What does Clickbank Gravity mean?
It is a number that gives you an idea how many affiliates are promoting a Clickbank product. It is not an exact number. 100 does not mean 100 affiliates are promoting that specific product. If one affiliate sold the product yesterday that counts more than one affiliate selling it a week ago. We could get into the tech definition of logarithmic numbers but think of it like Google Pagerank for the amount of affiliates promoting a product.
Simple definition: Big number means more competition with other affiliates.
The gravity figure in itself never did much for me. Yeah, you could tell if affiliates were promoting one product more than another and that could give you an indication if you want to promote the same product yourself, but that is a matter of preference. And one guru will tell you one thing while the other will tell you something totally different. And who gives a crap about gurus anyway.
But a site like CBtrends that has a listing of past gravity values has some use. You can watch as other affiliates jump on board with exact figures. To me, with at least gravity, this is worth more than the graph.
I am still trying to work out a formula to calculate a guessimate of actual sales volumes based on the figures that Clickbank gives out. Stay tuned for news.
Another website that allows you to inspect gravity trends is http://www.cb-analytics.com The overall usability is way better than most other sites
good job asking a question as your title and NEVER answering the question. you never ONCE explain exactly what the term “gravity” means relative to clickbank.
Thanks for point that out! Here is what gravity means:

I have always been under the impression that gravity means the approximate number of affiliates promoting the product. I don’t always see this as competition. It may simply mean the product is good and it sells.
Yeah. I think its clear enough/
But be coutious though, the higher gravity means higher competition. Normally gravity of 100 is good to go.
The highest gravity I see is 99.9495. Are we to ignore the decimal point? Would this actually be 999,495?
Many of the critical elements in the world have been accomplished by individuals who have kept on attempting when there seemed to be no hope at all
Im trying to decide between 2 similar products, one has 50% average % sale with 28 grav and the other has 1 grav and 75% average sale % which would be better to promote? Bearing in mind the first has a higher pay %
Most say to go with any gravity 100 or over, by as stated in the above posts this also means more competion in that product.
the term “number of affiliates promoting the product” does not explain it clearly. Rather, you should have said that gravity is “the number of affiliates that have made a commissions” (in the past 12 weeks. big difference.
See the definition below DIRECTLY from the Clickbank definition on their website: this number represents a unique calculation by ClickBank that takes into account the number of different affiliates who earned a commission by promoting this product over the past 12 weeks. Since more recent transactions are given a higher value, this number can give you an idea of what products are “hot” at the moment, in terms of being promoted by many affiliates and making a good number of sales. However, high gravity can also indicate that there will be a lot of competition in promoting this product.
Is profitable to promote products with a gravity below 10?
