The Ability to Convey Information

This, I would say, is the only ability you need to promote affiliate products, because whether you do it the free way, "bum marketing" or you pay to play, you need to be able to put something down that people can read and understand. You need to have some sort of writing ability.

Even if all you are going to use is PPC, knowing how to write your ads is going to pay off in the long run. I am not saying I haven’t made money from just throwing an an Adwords ad up, but I made more return on time invested from perfecting Adwords ads. How do you perfect them? You could buy a book on copywriting or you could just swipe. The swipe file is a common tool for most advertisers. Now I don’t mean you use the same Adwords ad word for word, but you use performing ads that you find on your searches as a starting point.

What is a performing ad? One that is there day after day. It wouldn’t be there if the advertiser wasn’t making money. PPC is not like other advertising. You know how well an ad performs without guessing. Everything is trackable.

Most great ads reach down into a person and pull on that part of them that needs something. And that may or may not be easy.

Okay, for those of you who want to get started with something. Check out this Ebay search. These are all ebooks for sale on Ebay. When I was doing this, you had to be very careful because Ebay would close down your auction for any reason they saw fit. Look through the listings. Don’t bother with the packages of ebooks, just look at the single ones. Look at whose selling them. Look at their other auctions. Look at their feedback to see if customers appreciate their product.

Are these people making a killing selling a few ebooks a week for a dollar? Yes. Maybe not a killing, but more money than you see at the Ebay auctions. In fact, some of the auction sellers price these ebooks just high enough to make their auction fees back. Why? They make money from links in the ebook, affiliate links.

You pick one of the subjects off your list and write a short ebook about it. It can be as short as 15 pages. I am currently reading a free ebook, Killer Flagship Content, by Chris Garrett, that is only 14 pages long. And it is worth much more, to me, than many bloated, overpriced ebooks you may buy

It shouldn’t take that long to write the book. Add graphics and examples to illustrate your subject. And find affiliate products that will help your readers learn what you are trying to teach them. Link to those products from your ebook. Then give free resale rights away along with a tutorial on how to resell your ebook on Ebay or send them to this post.

I did this with my ebook, Automated Ebay Sale, and today, almost 4 years after I wrote it, check it out. This book only has my affiliate links in it. If I would have been smart I would have made it so that the person buying could have at least changed half of them to their own affiliate links, but I didn’t. Did that matter? Nope. People are still sellling it. I give it away free on this site. Does that matter? Nope. People are still selling it. Some are still selling the first version.

On internet, the right had never knows what the left hand is doing. I give the book away for free, but others can still make sales with it. Some people know the trick to writing your own ebook with your own affiliate links and some people try to make money by selling the ebook for a buck a copy. This is something to remember when you think you can’t sell something.

My point in this site is not to hold your hand, but to show you methods and then boil those methods down to affiliate marketing principles that you can use to come up with your own methods. So, if anything, remember these points:

• Always follow where the money goes. (i.e. People are selling my book with my affiliate links on Ebay for me. If they followed this principle, they would have written their own.)
• Just because information is free one place doesn’t mean someone will pay for it somewhere else. (i.e. My ebook is free here and people still buy it on Ebay.)
