This letter was sent on March 27, 2011. Now it’s been more than 2 weeks and no result – no reply. Usually you just forget about these cases. But I decided to analyze “errors” as experiment continues)

I think you should have a custom promotional strategy for every blog. If one blog’s plan looks the same as another’s, you have a problem unless they are on the same topic. When it comes to your specific topic, you should hunt down at least a few ways of promoting it that is unique to your blog’s niche. If that fails, just check out my list. Help me add to it in the comments. I think I will be editing this list for a while and then I will start categorizing. But for now, just from off the top of my head.

1. Optimize your blog on site.
2. Submit your blog to feed directories.
3. Make sure you ping wherever you can.
4. Post new content as frequently as you can.
5. Use a feedburner chicklet count when the number gets big.
6. Submit your blog to standard directories.
7. Be active in social networks and pay attention to dofollow.
8. Write articles and submit them elsewhere.
9. Join places like Squidoo and HubPages and create related pages.
10. Write and submit press releases.
11. Submit your articles to online news sites.
12. Comment on blogs and pay attention to dofollow.
13. Comment on an .edu blog if you get a chance for a real comment.
14. Be active in forums and use a link to your blog in the signature.
15. Use free hosting and free blog hosting to create other related sites.
16. Interlink all of these pages from various free websites and networks.
17. Write software and submit it to shareware sites.
18. Give away a free ebook.
19. Get a professional design and submit it to css directories.
20. Write flagship articles frequently and put your heart in them.
21. Try using numbers in blog post titles.
22. Create huge lists of things like this one.
23. Create a list of other blogs in your niche.

28. Put your blog url in the signature of emails.
29. Put your blog url on printed materials like business cards and letterheads.
30. Get a bumper sticker with your blog’s url.
31. Post flyers on community billboards.
32. Mention your blog at conferences and give your business cards away.
33. Reference other bloggers as much as you can, especially if they show trackbacks.
34. Give away a free theme with a link to your blog in the footer.
35. Write about up and coming people and products in the niche. Sometimes they link to stories.

39. Pay attention to memes so you are ready to pounce on one that could help you get traffic.
40. Trade blogroll links with related blogs.
41. Capture emails and start a newsletter to make sure potential customers are coming back.
42. Use Google Adwords to promote product landing pages that I know are already profitable.
43. Link to other blogs whenever I can. When I forget about link juice going out, it always seems to pay off.
44. Add dofollow to encourage more comments and hence more content.
45. Deep link to other posts in the blog with each new post.
46. Use memes tracker and find hot related conversations you can jump in to.
47. Create a simple product and launch an affiliate program.
48. Start your own viral idea.
49. Start one of those fun tagging things but don’t go overboard.
50. Answer questions on Yahoo Answers and other answer sites.
51. Contribute to Google Groups and other new groups.

101. Join Entrecard and use it as a tool to comment on other blogs and bring traffic.
102. Use featured post and popular post widgets to keep new visitors on the site longer.
103. Run newspaper classifieds.
104. Run ads on free classified sites.
105. Start a controversy but be careful.
106. Get software like RankSense to help you with SEO on your blog.
107. Introduce yourself to other bloggers in your niche and keep in contact.
108. Use Odiogo to convert your feeds into podcasts and submit these to podcast sites.
109. Use a similar posts type plugin and add this to your feeds also.
110. Allow anything to scrape your site just remember to constantly deep link your site.
111. Constantly improve your content.

Using Entredropper as an Instant LinkRank Booster | Pinoy Biz Blogger

Do a search on Google for “Entredroppers” with the quotes entredroppers and you should find a few more. I found 331 unique urls refering to the term. Oh, what the hell, here is the text file: List of EntreDroppers

But like I said that is a raw list, but if even half are right, it could be a another reason to drop more Entrecards. You don’t get dofollow links buy buying ads, but now you can by dropping cards. I may have to check it out.

If you are interested in the plugin, here is the EntreDropper’s Plugin. You have the option to make the links nofollow if you want, but a lot seem to be dofollow. Check it out if you want.

But, like I said, I haven’t checked the list in any way, just cleaned duplicate urls. Have at it. Because I would sit on the list until I had time which could be a month.

Look for some upcoming posts here with some more meat. They have been a little light lately and I am glad everyone has stuck with me. I have a lot of things going on and neglected what I could to get some new stream of income coming in. But I think I can say I’m back. I will be going on with the niche blog case study. My PageRank miraculously reappeared on Profit-ware after dropping to 0 after the last Google update.

I also have been playing around with an installation of WordPress MU, learning how to create custom landing pages for Adwords campaigns on WordPress and building a few niche blogs on the fly just to see if it is plausible to run a few blogs with true unique content. And of course, I will get into the details of all that in due time.

They just added added CommentLuv as one of the options. Of course, that’s not the only options. You can choose from the following choices:

• WordPress
• WordPress.com

• EzineArticles
• EnGadget
• Squidoo

I have found that since the maximum limit of blogs Comment Kahuna will find is 50, if you set your Search Type to All Types, the software will mainly find WordPress and Drupal sites. To access articles on the other sites like Squidoo choose them specifically after you do your All Types search.

The funny thing about all these different programs is that they all do basically the same thing. They all submit forms in varying degrees of automation. The data is different. The algorithms similar.

I knew thing a long time ago. My idea was to create a generic automated/semi-automated form submitter program. Do get me wrong with this. I am not a spammer. I wouldn’t have used it’s functionality for blog commenting of anything that requires a human touch. I am mainly speaking of directories of various types where there are no benefits to submitting forms manually unless you want to brush up on your typing.

I eventually realized the complexity of such software and put those plans on the back burner, hoping that another developer would come up with the same idea by the time I went looking again. Well, one did. I just started using the software about a month ago. And it does more than the software I imagined building myself.

This software is a key in a future series coming up on this blog and on my newest blog. On this blog, I will be documenting the creation of a niche blog about Ebay. With it, I will be exploring the effects of various methods of link building and the effect each has on search engine rankings. And I will be promoting Clickbank products along with some other affiliate products.

The software is complex though and most of the help is in Russian. I have been spending a lot of time on Russian SEO forums using Google translator trying to learn how to use some of the features of AllSubmitter. So this is just an initial review. I could write a good sized book on all the stuff this software can do.

How to Find Directories to Submit Your Blog or Website To

AllSubmitter answers this question. A lot of directories use the same terms on links to their submission pages. To find sites to submit to, AllSubmitter has a built in search function that will collect all pages that have specific terms on them, then remove domain duplicates, and then attempt to discover which page on the site the link submission form is on.

Of course, AllSubmitter will also import sites from a list of links or from the links on a web page. So you know all those lists of links around the web. AllSubmitter will import them, giving you even more directories to submit to.

This Submission Software Learns New Forms for Automatic Submission

As you go through the process of submitting your sites in semi-automatic mode, AllSubmitter guesses which fields in the form matches the data and prefills it for you. It’s damn accurate, too. After that, it is up to you to check if everything is correct and submit the form.

During this semi-automatic process, AllSubmitter learns how the form processes and what a successful submission looks like. And the next time you submit to that directory, you can do it in fully-automatic mode,

AllSubmitter Can Recognize Captchas

AllSubmitter can submit to sites with captchas automatically. A big percentage of the time, AllSubmitter accurately recognizes captchas. The rest of the time, it lines all the captchas up in a row so that’s all you have to type in. Pretty quick and easy.

This is not even close to all the thing AllSubmitter can do. It is also a keyword tool and ranking checker. Like I said, there will be more posts after I have time to investigate everything it can do.

The book I am speaking of is Power Linking by Jack Humphrey who now has a book called Social Power Linking. But he also has a free one called the Authority Blackbook, but I digress. Power Linking is an awesome book if a little outdated. One of the type’s of sites just showing on the internet scene were search engine services. These sites would create private search engines for your site, but host them on their domain.

Some of these search engine providers had built quite a ranking with Google. By linking to the results of your queries and the sitemaps of your sites on these sites, you could instantly notify Google of this mass of backlinks to your site.

I stopped using the method mainly because of other options. But I guess the method is just as valid as any. I was running a search for authority sites the other day and found that the tactic is still alive and well and is used my many high traffic sites.

Why do I call it a tactic? Because Google won’t find these links naturally. Someone had to link to the pages. And I figure, if the big guys do it, why not?

I was using SEO Elite. One of the most useful functions is finding authority sites. You type in a keyword. It finds high ranking sites and then analyzes the sites that link to those high ranking sites. It’s amazing. You discover sometimes like 20% of the high ranking sites with a link from the same authority site. And this is how I discovered that the query tactic was still alive and well. And it counted. I had just seen the results.

The Authority Link Via Query Tactic

In fact, for off-site SEO, SEO Elite is probably the only tool you need. By using it, you discover the linking tactics that won’t be written about in blogs and on forums for months, before everyone else does.

The key to this tactic is linking to high ranking domains that somehow reference your site, but do not have a directory of any type. With a directory, the search engines would naturally find the link. But since the only way to find the reference to your site is through a search, you must search first and then link to the results page.

I discovered a post the describes a way of getting seven of these links. This generator builds the links for you. Mine I pasted below:

To tell you the truth I am not sure how valuable these links are. I just know they appeared for other sites and any links can’t hurt you, they can only be devalued to the point they have no effect. So for the time spent, not an issue.

Black Hat

But since having like sites link yours counts more than any random site, it is good to have a tool like SEO Elite. I did research for one site and found out that the EPA web site has a 404 referrer page. The page is just a list of the last referrers that received a 404 error. It is not a .com, not a .edu, but a .gov.  And it really depends on how black hat you want to be, if you use this type of information or not.

Staying in Your Niche

But not all this information from SEO Elite is just fodder for black hat SEO’s. Some of it just good information to have. It cuts out the B.S. of which links are more valuable. Yes, having 10,000 links to your site is great. But wouldn’t it be better to start with the 100 links that pack 50% of the linking power of the whole list combined.

The same search turned up a lot of forums, blogs and niche directories that I never would have run into if I had followed just a generic linking campaign, the one size fits all of submitting to directories, article marketing, and other methods that can be applied to any site.

Any way you attain an edge is the way to go. While others are using link building tactics that they learned in a two year old ebook or from a blog post, tools like SEO Elite give you access to real time tactics. The link magic that the ebooks and blog posts are written about, before everyone knows.

So first, I ran some software to find every possible CommentLuv and KeywordLuv blog I could. This came to right under 600 blogs. Then I took the url’s and ran them threw a script I built to find the feed url of each blog. With this list of feed urls I built an OPML file. This took hours but I wasn’t involved. The software did it’s job. As far as the software goes, I will be writing a review of it soon. The name. Wait for the review. It was not created to do what I did with it. It was built as a website submitter, but I have found so many uses for it lately.

Okay, enough of the internet war stories. Everyone knows about the Techmeme or Megite river of news where a mass of stories are feed in and then sorted so that the newest posts show first. I have been playing with the idea of making more "niche" news rivers. After all, not everyone is tech savvy. What about a scrapbooking news river? Also, tech covers a lot of territory. I read the Techmeme river but I know I am just hitting the top of what’s going on it tech. I want to build deep rather than wide rivers. Each post on the Techmeme river could theoretically be a creek of even more detailed specific information.

And the CommentLuv and KeywordLuv Post River is the first experiment. And finally gave me a use for a domain I have had for ages. Now that I have a system down, I can build a lot of rivers. Watch for more to come.

I also used Dapp to build a widget that you can add to your Google homepage or a blog or wherever you want.
