Automated Blogging: The Rise and Fall and Rise and Fall…
Automated blogging has been around for a long time. I remember one of the first tools I used to create content was called Traffic Equalizer. There were probably blogs then but they were nothing like the easy to use content management systems we have today. But that tool worked like a charm to trick Google into thinking it was a valid niche site. The program created content with search results based on keywords you entered and because the results naturally contained a high concentration of the targeted keyword and a good mix of related one they started ranking really easily and I made a lot of money with Adsense in those days. It worked for a while and like all systems designed to trick Google, it started not working as well.
So Much for The PageRank on the Niche Blog
I figured I would use my assets with experiment of building a niche Ebay blog. I had a domain with a PageRank of 4 that I used to sell Ebay software and ebooks from. It had been banned by Google about 4 years ago and I have been just sitting on the domain, waiting. I had no use for it other than it also held my main email address. I figured Google would give me a break sometime.
Affiliate Marketers Have to Wear Shades
Looks like the future is bright for affiliate marketing, as long as you learn your stuff. It looks like the only wild card preventing us from making any more money is Google. But Google is no problem as long as you build quality sites. So the news is basically the same as before. "Don’t piss off Google."
But who needs news like this to choose affiliate marketing. It’s the ultimate test of stepping away from your day job to freedom in your own business you created. A business where you don’t have a boss, client, or customers to answer to.
Thin Affiliates and The Google Quality Rater’s Handbook
Thought that this snippet might be useful for affiliate marketer’s. The rest of the document is pretty boring. This was under the thin affiliate section. This is how quality raters are supposed to recognize a true shopping site as opposed to a thin affiliate site.
a “view your shopping cart” link that stays on the same site and updates when you add items to it,
a return policy with a physical address,
a shipping charge calculator,
a “wish list” link, or a link to postpone purchase of an item until later,
Google To Enforce AdWords URL Policy Starts April 1st
Official: Google To Enforce AdWords URL Policy Starts April 1st
I hate Google. Why? Because I have been following this policy since it went into effect. I watched as other affiliates skated around it. Now they want to start enforcing it. Google:"Okay guys, we made this rule, but it wasn’t really a rule. You can break it if you want. Just don’t tell anybody. We will make it a real rule later."
A policy is not a policy unless it’s enforced, assholes.
