The Clickbank Adwords Case Study: Part 3
This last part of the case study took a while, for a multitude of reasons.
The other two:
For one, I have been developing tracking software to track my Clickbank sales. But now there is Hexatrack and Tracking202, both of which have free trials. Actually, it’s developed. It just needs cleaned up so that others can use it. You see, I build things as fast as I can to have access to the functionality, but that leaves the interface a little less than newbie friendly. It’s simple and I am still continuing development.
Clickbank Instant Notification
Clickbank is strange that way. Everyone else would have called it an API. But it seems now that you can have sales notifications sent to a url specified by you. It uses a POST function.
Here is how it works:
- An action occurs in the ClickBank system (ex sale, rebill, refund, etc)
- ClickBank posts FORM parameters to a URL you specify
- ClickBank observes the server response
- A program you build processes the variables
This works right into my idea for a tag based contextual Clickbank widget. It would have to adjust itself based on sales and click through rate. Instant sales notifications would make that possible.
Strange Little Dip Yesterday
Actually since about Sunday evening. I am not the type to start yelling,"The sky is falling, the sky is falling." I used to be. Whenever sales dropped, I would freak out. But yesterday was pretty drastic. Sales dropped to 10% of their normal volume. Not freaking out though. I have seen it before.
But today I already have 200% of the sales I made yesterday and it is only 9:30 in the morning. Add to that the fact that the Clickbank login and stats area was put in maintenance mode yesterday makes me question a few things.
My Recent Clickbank Sales
Things are looking up. Today was a good day. The search for material to add to this blog has got me testing new methods and really running my old ones through the ringer. This has had good results. Part of this is the season. The summers are hard. Never base what you think you will make in the year if you have only made sales during the cold months. More people are inside when its colder and the change in sales can be drastic. In years past I had been lax in the winter because sales were up. This year I am going to keep the pressure on all the way through and see where it takes me.
Proof That I Know What I Am Talking About
I guess all the guys selling the hot ebooks show you proof of their Clickbank sales, so you buy their books. I’ll show you one so you continue with me at this blog. Here is the latest screenshot of one of my Clickbank accounts. Yes, and the last week I have added a few tactics which I will writing about in due time.
