Starting Over with the Niche Blog Plan
Why?
I got a little bit ahead of myself announcing this plan for one. I didn’t realized that I would be involved in so many other things at the same time. There just wasn’t the time to put all the pieces of the puzzle together. And by the time I did have time, I realized that some of the pieces were missing.
There are plenty of niche blog plans out there. And I have pulled some information from a bunch of them for my own use. I am not going to lie. But the main concept is still different. I really had no idea how to get started and spent way too much time planning instead of just jumping.
This planning was to prevent the new niche blogs from becoming what my old niche sites once were, a modge-podge of techniques, structure, and directories that never became a true whole. I wanted all my ducks in a row. Unfortunately, perfectly aligned ducks will have to wait.
I was also starting sites based on the PLR articles I could find. And you know what I discovered. It takes just about as long to rewrite a PLR article as to write an article from scratch. And if I just pick up my typing speed a bit, I can write even faster.
The New Plan
The new plan is to write all of my own content. Yes, a lot of work, but I think the end result will be better. I began to think about the PLR articles even more. I realized that even if I was rewriting the articles, I would still be covering the same topics other sites that bought the same package were covering.
I am building niche sites to make money from selling products. By going with the generic overview of the niche with PLR articles, I am kind of putting the wrong thing first. I need to go from products to articles. The articles should only cover those topics that the products deal with.
As I was using the Ebay PLR articles, I realized that I was rewriting a lot of articles that were basically fluff. Yes, someone might need to know the info, but it wasn’t going to help me make a sell.
Yes, I am going to be a sell-out bitch with these niche blogs, but I will be writing all the content. So, no crys of spam. More to come.

I love this post. I was thinking about the same concept today. Starting from the products and building out from there with numerous niche sites. Also, I plan on making sure that I add keyword phrases that used lots by surfers, but have relatively low supply via other websites.

I definitely think you’re making the right decision. PLR looks awesome in theory and might be if you have the time or a VA to do it.

I agree with you on the PLR articles. I do better writing my own than trying to rewrite them. Good luck on the products. I am thinking about getting into BANS myself.
I can write really fast when I want to, faster than rewriting something and worrying about percentages.
Way to go! Creating your own content is definitely a lot of work, but it is also the most successful.

After trying other ways, it’s actually just easier, other than paying for good writing, which I cannot afford now.
I tried rewrite some PLR articles but it just don’t works for me… It’s better to find tons of info and then write one from the scratch.

Hi I would like to know what’s PLR means? I am also planning to my own niche in the future. Is there anything you can advice?
It stands for Private Label Rights, which means you have the right to use and edit the articles for your use. It’s a cheap way to get content you can customize. The problems: The same package is sold to thousands of people and I have found that I can write faster than I can rewrite someone else’s writing.
Most definitely the right decision. I hate rewriting articles. Most of the time I end up making changes just for the sake of changing it and the end result doesn’t make a lot of sense because there is no flow to it at all.

Good point.
So true, although it is tempting and seems like it should be less effort rewording existing articles it’s actually quicker, more authentic sounding and more beneficial to write your own.
How many times do we need to read paraphrasings of the same articles anyway?
I know. We get enough of that anyway.
