How to Market with Twitter
I ran into this site the other day. It’s called Twittin’ Secrets: 100+ Of The World’s Greatest
Twitter Tips & Twitter Secrets. Speaking of spam, the way I started this post gave me a de ja vu feeling of the last time I visited an article scraper blog. I need to watch it.
I like Twitter. And if you compare my initial reaction to Twitter to the way I use it now, you might say I love Twitter. When I first heard of it, I thought it was useless. What can you say with that much of a limit? What use is it to know what someone else is doing right this second?
The limit on Twitter makes it fast. The limit on Twitter makes it easy and quick. The quickness of Twitter may mean you meet a much different person than the “blogger” you are used to. And who needs an article when a few sentences will do.
It is also much easier to follow 1000 people on Twitter than keep up with 100 blogs. And those people who use Twitter most likely will announce the biggest news there first. They will announce their newest posts, deals they found and any possible big news related to their interests.
A “Tweet” can be scanned. It’s a bite sized piece of info. Usually self-contained, but if there is a link, you can choose to follow it or not. Following people on Twitter saves time. It gives you the overview.
So back to spam. You might have already checked out the link. Every person defines spam for themselves. Most black hat techniques are white hat techniques taken to the extreme. How far you take things is up to you. Some of what I see there, I would call spam. But I think car salesman are air spammers. Hype hides a lot of things.
But seeing something like Twitter marketing at the extreme end of it’s scale gives you many more options. You can see more of what is possible and then choose what you want to do. You might see some things you missed in your own exploration, new tactics to try.
So take a look at what this guy has for you and learn to use Twitter, because you are missing out if you’re not. Starting following people until you get it and one day, Twitter will just be an extension of what you do.
