Google Snatch Ranking Results

Okay, I’m just playing now. But it is an experiment in how getting rank in search engines works. It would have been great if I actually wrote a good review of Google Snatch. Maybe I would have made some sales. I am currently ranked number 4 in Google for the phrase Google Snatch, a product ranked #2 in Marketing and Ads in the Clickbank Marketplace. Let’s look at the timeline.

• On October 3, I wrote the first post on Google Snatch, after I noticed it was hot. This gave me instant ranking of #1 because not many affiliates were writing about the product.
• On October 16, I wrote another post about Google Snatch. At this point, I was ranked # 27 or so for the phrase because other affiliates got their post out. With that post, I linked to the original one, creating another link with Google Snatch in it. I also have "Recent Posts" on the sidebar of my blog which is on every page. This linked to the post with the phrase also. I asked a few of you to bookmark the post with the phrase to see what that would do.

Okay, first, this site has hidden Google Pagerank because it redirects from a site that had a Pagerank of 4. I had to do this because of trademark issues with Clickbank. This gives all of my posts a little more weight with Google. This Pagerank was built over time by getting links to the original site. When I write a post, I ping as many sites as I can with Pingoat. This gives more links to each and every post. All I had to do after that was circle my posts around the original one to get it higher in the Google results.

Will I rank any higher after this post. That’s kind of iffy. You have to realize that while you are working on getting a page ranked, others are doing the same. So you never really know where you will end up. You just plug ahead as if you have no competition.

The concept is simple. The methods you use to put the concept to work are as complex as you want them to be.
