News at Entrecard

July 24, 2008

Okay, a lot of you probably now what I am going to go over in this post, but there has been a lot of changes at Entrecard lately. It took me a few to days to get around to investigate all the changes and there have been a few issues.

SezWho

I have been signed up for SezWho on my other blog since I first found the service. So when Entrecard added it, I thought it would be an easy process to integrate everything. Not so.

First, if you already have an account with SezWho, enter the email address, your name, and the blog url on this page: http://entrecard.com/user/YOUR-USER-ID/sezwho. The link did not show up for me on this blog after I activated it, so I had to go through my history to find out how I activated it on my other blog. Another easy way to get to the page is go to your dashboard and add "sezwho" to the end of your url.

You can add more than one blog to your SezWho account. I didn’t know this before I added this blog to a new account. And then when I realized this, it wouldn’t let me add this blog to my current account that I have had almost a year. The only way to fix that is go to the SezWho support forums and ask to have the extra account deleted.

But everything is working now and SezWho is just another great way to brand yourself or your blogs on the internet.

The Entrecard Economy

What should you get credits for? That is something that is constantly shifting at Entrecard and it should. It’s not like they have a model to base this on.

Recently, in the last couple of days, I have noticed extra credits in my account. A lot. First I thought I was getting dissed by people I chose to advertise on, but this wasn’t true. Then I thought that maybe the credits for showing ads became greater. Not so either.

So I found out I was getting credits for posts. 400 a post. Not bad. I can find no info on it right now looking through the Entrecard blog. But that works.

And if you look at blogging activities: posting, commenting, and reading other blogs, you should getting paid credits for each one. I think this is a more balanced system. The credits you get per action may change, but they are on the right track. You don’t have to pay or be a clicking monkey to get credits. Instead you can choose to write or comment more often.

Of course, this would cause disturbances in the force until the economy absorbs the new income source, but it will level it.
