Dumping Your Sites

November 29, 2007

Don’t ever sell an active site unless that is your business model. If you get traffic to it, it is much better to keep. I see sites selling every day that I would have never sold. I also see sites that are not monetized at all that I would love to get my hands on. Oh, the oppurtunities.

A site in itself can be responsible for making you money without making money itself. It can send traffic to the sites that make you money.

I have about ten sites sitting around doing nothing. They make no money, but they have pagerank and get visitors. I made a grand total of about $100 from Adsense from one over the last year.

Just find one product that matches the theme of each site you already have. Creating a landing page for the product on the site. And link from every page in the site to the

landing page.

A lot of affiliates make the mistake of using affiliate links throughout their site. Instead link to the landing page. The more links to the page, the higher it rises in the SERP’s.

You can feature more than one product, but I wouldn’t do that until you have give one product it’s shot. See how high your page ranks and then see if you site can support more products. If you are at #1 for the keywords you are using, add more. If not, it’s better to to stick to just the one product.

I have only recently starting blogging more. I think it is a better model than I had been using. Just training yourself to write really fast about anything that you are interested in. But don’t write crap. Only things you have an interest or stake in. That will make you care about what you are writing about.
Eventually it get easier to write. It’s practice.
