Recently I received an email from Clickbank stating that one of my accounts was scheduled for deletion due to an email from a vendor. The vendor’s id was soccerfr. He complained that my site outranked his for his main keywords. On this basis and the fact that I have "clickbank" in my domain they cancelled my account.

He claimed that I stold his top ranking for the keyword "soccer drills". Well I am no where near the top and neither is he. From what I can tell, he caused his own problem. Doing a backlick check on Google, he must have done some sort of no-no. And when this happened he lashed out and took it out on me. But the fact is that Clickbank allowed it.

I don’t know why I didn’t think of this. I could charge $50 to submit people sites to search engines. I have the software to make it happen in about ten minutes, from submission to shiny submission report. But who worries about the search engines? They usually find you after you get enough links to your site. And if you don’t have any links then submission to search engines does no good any way.

Don’t worry about search engine submissions. That’s not where you are going to get traffic from. Worry about optimizing your site and getting links to it and the spiders will find you.

Yes, I have to admit to the power of Web 2.0 for creating traffic. I experienced it once when I experimented with StumbleUpon and other social networks. If you have something that people want, they will flock to you and bring their friends along.

But I never got into social networks for that reason. I just sort of Stumbled Upon them, pardon the pun. But I did experience an increase in sales way beyond what I could have accomplished just using the old linking method.
