This way of making money is a little too much work for me, but the guy that I sold my VW vanagon to swears by it. From what I can tell, he was only 17 years old and already had enough money in the bank for college to get out of this God forsaken area of the country.

Yes, the battery you return to the auto parts store for the core charge is definitely worth more than the five bucks they give you. I’ve worked in parts stores in Phoenix where batteries only lasted about two years which meant if people kept their receipt, they would never pay full price for a battery again. Car batteries usually carry a prorated warranty for anywhere from 4 to 7 years. I wondered how the company made a profit in an area where batteries died so quickly. The answer: reconditioning.

I guess spending 34 dollars to make sure you are buying the right Porsche is worth it. And Porsche lovers like to spend money. It’s a thing. Like a jeep thing or a Volkswagen thing. I sold a Porsche tool kit for a guy on Ebay and it went for over $200. The wrench looked like you could pick them up for a buck a piece. Yeah, a few were unique to the kit, but, come on, $200.
