Save and Email Yourself Your Clickbank Sales in Real Time
When I made my first sale from Clickbank, they would email notifications of sales. In fact, at that time, I would have never known I made a sale for a month or so if it wasn’t for that email notification. I was trying everything just to see what would stick. I got my first email from Clickbank that I had made a sale and I was hooked.
But eventually Clickbank stopped sending out these emails to affiliates. And I can understand why. Sales took off and sending out two emails for every sale can really put a load on a server.
Turning the Clickbank Marketplace into a Comma Delimited File
I originally wrote a similar post on my other blog. This is the new, improved version of that Clickbank XML file transformation. That one missed all the subcategories. This one gets them, but throws all the new product into one new category. If anyone has time to fix that, I will post your fix here.
This is going to be a short and sweet post. I finally wrote a XSL stylesheet that transforms all the data from the Clickbank XML datafeed file into CSV. CSV is format more easily editable and importable for the not so tech inclined person. XSL stylesheets are generally used to turn XML into HTML pages. So here are the steps.
The Clickbank Facelift
Yesterday, in the middle of the day, I logged into Clickbank and was freaked out at first. Everything was red instead of blue. I double checked the domain, just in case I happened to type in the wrong url and had just entered my login details into a phishing site. Nope, the url was correct.
So it seems that Clickbank changed colors a bit but that is not all. Now you can build and encoded affiliate url using Hoplink Shield. You can also paste and encoded url in and get it decoded. The point is to stop commission loss my masking your affiliate link.
Free Easy Hopads WordPress Plugin
Over the last year or so, I’ve experimented with a plugin that imports the Clickbank marketplace into another table in WordPress and adds related products to the posts. You can see the result of that work at the bottom of this post. The problem was that I finished to a point that would be functional for me but no for the average WordPress user. So, as of yet, it hasn’t made it to a release version yet.
Products that Spawn New Digital Products
If you have browsed throught the Clickbank marketplace you may have noticed that there are a few shady products in there, like the download sites. But if you take a look at them, you see an interesting pattern.
I have dealt with Clickbank as an affiliate a long time now. And for a few months, I have been making posts over at a new site, Clickbunk.com. The only posts I make there currently are announcements of new products at Clickbank. And day after day, I have been browsing the products as they come up, watching for patterns, watching for something that may be a new hot product.
