How I made my first $400 check from Clickbank
I used to have a scan of it somewhere. To me it was amazing that is was this easy to make money online. I had been working construction and it’s about the same check I would get for working in the Phoenix heat for 40 hours a week. Yes, I know. The checks the gurus like to show with six figures would have been nicer. But it’s time to get real. Most of them had been doing it a long time and had a network of sites or advertising systems built that would keep the money coming in 24/7. The "secrets" they were selling in their ebooks had already been used to death and, if not, would soon be. A whole new army of newbie affiliates flooding the system, making Google work quicker at fixing their algorithm, because many of the secret ebooks you see are tutorials on how to be a spammer.
Do What I Say, Not What I Have Done
I recently looked for a new domain to buy: asshatseo.com. Someone already had it though, but is not yet using it. My idea was to buy it, put a blog up, and list all the things in the the past that I have done with sites that have ended up screwing me. It’s good knowledge to have. What not to do.
Ewen Chia’s Free Website Builder
You can tell who a product is marketed towards by the name of the product. If I was looking for software to create a website, I would not be looking for a “Free Website Builder“. But if my sister was looking for it, that’s probably pretty close to what she would type into Google.
The claim is that the software is worth $197, which a person using these terms might believe although a lot of us know better. You can pick up a lot of WYSIWYG Website Software for free. But a person like my sister wouldn’t know that sites like SourceForge exist.
Watch For A New Product on Facebook
The spammers are already trying to hit Facebook. It was only a matter of time. There is not yet a product on Clickbank that has anything to do with Facebook. But once there is, chances are that it will be pretty hot. They always ruin everything. But I think Facebook will figure out a way to control it.
Tools like this can only work for a while, until the users are banned or an algorithm written to make up for the imbalance created by spammers. Any system built with software can be detected with software.
My Review of SEO Elite on Squidoo
I thought I would try Squidoo for a review of a product that I really recommend. I use it often. Recently I used it to check on John Chow’s blog. Some interesting results there and lot to learn from just one campaign. This report alone is worth the purchase price of Seo Elite.
It is a work in progress with screencasts and case studies to come.
